14 - media a la carte

Picture is obviously from CNN.

It's a very democratic election... People get to learn a lot about the candidates that they will vote for. Interestingly some of them really care to do so. Hence these candidates appear on TVs, newspapers and radio quite often.

If so far it's not weird enough, hear this: Some among those even have questions for these candidates. Can you believe that? A person has the right to question a probable president... As some seriously weird and deliriously religious people in the streets claim world might be coming to an end. Or maybe not.

You might have found what I said above, very ridiculous. Probably you said, "What?! Of course in a democratic election people has the right to ask the candidates whatever they want".

Maria Luisa Parra-Sandoval, a political science student, asked Hillary Clinton whether she prefers diamonds or pearls. As a part of the audience in a CNN Studio, she appeared to be wasting the precious time. If you have one chance to ask a serious question would that be about pearls? Although I honestly believe that it's a very important question, the person is not the right choice. She said she liked both. See what I mean? Ask any jeweler and prepare to listen the difference.

Anyway, there is a flaw in the story above. A political science student would not ask a simple question like this to a political figure. If she does, it conflicts with the concept of education or what we understand from that concept. So she didn't. She proposed a question on health care for children and then a question on environmental concerns, both to be rejected. A light question as requested, was the one about

As we are getting closer to the end, there are still some good things around. I was a concert of a woman extraordinary with her music, her voice and attitude altogether. Here's an exclusive video excerpt -only for my fellow blog readers.
